Mid-Summer Catch-Up from Daydream Manor Flower Farm

Hey y’all—welcome back to Daydream Manor Flower Farm! I’m Dawn, coming to you from the heart of South Louisiana, where the heat index is 109° and the flower fields are taking a well-earned summer nap.

Right now, I’m tucked inside my multi-purpose home office (aka command central), juggling flower farming, boutique inventory, website updates, and a whole lot of grit—literally. I’ve got a small patch of zinnias, basil, celosia, and mums hanging on for dear life, just enough to fill monthly bouquet orders until the fall blooms roll in.

With the summer heat forcing me indoors, I’ve been tackling the behind-the-scenes work: organizing receipts (thank you, new accountant!), updating my planting schedule, prepping for fall seed starts, and sewing wreath sashes like I’m running a one-woman factory. I even dove into my spring catalog to plan next year’s hanging baskets—doubling the order because y’all loved them so much!

It’s a season of sweat, spreadsheets, and sass, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Whether I’m wrangling boutique inventory or prepping the flower field, it’s all part of the dream. Thanks for being here, and stay tuned—more blooms and behind-the-scenes updates are coming soon.
